Smart Design announced an expansion of their Barcelona office into a new custom studio space allowing further growth of its staff and design services. Clients from across Europe and the world are benefiting from Smart's matchless expertise in designing product experiences that emotionally connect with people and create memorable brands for their clients. With a strong presence in Barcelona, Smart Design enjoys contributing to one of the most innovative hubs of the European design community.
To celebrate the new Barcelona space, Smart Design has invited acclaimed author Warren Berger to be their guest for a Smart Salon on October 20. Smart Salons bring in prominent leaders from the design and business community to share insights with an invited audience at Smart Design's studios. Previous guests include Jeffrey Hollender CEO of Seventh Generation and Bruce Nussbaum of Parsons New School of Design and contributor at Fast Company and Business Week.
Timed to coincide with Barcelona Design Week 2010, the Smart Salon with Warren Berger will take place on October 20, starting at 18:00 at their new studio. Berger will start off the evening with a talk called "Design Thinking = How Designers Think" which argues for a more plainspoken, accessible discussion of Design Thinking, with an emphasis on the real-world creative approaches of leading designers (as opposed to academic theory). Berger's research has taken him inside the studios of Smart Design, IDEO, Bruce Mau Design, and Yves Behar's fuseproject, among others.
Berger's latest book Glimmer: How design can transform business, your life, and maybe even the world was named one of the "Best Design & Innovation Books of 2009" by Business Week magazine, and was featured on the cover of the January 2010 European edition of Wired magazine.
