Alberto Alessi to Curate Fourth Edition of Triennale Design Museum

Alberto Alessi will be the new curator of the fourth exhibition for the Triennale Design Museum, following the exhibition curated by Alessandro Mendini entitled "The things we are" which closed at the end of February 2011.

Alberto Alessi's new curatorial interpretation will focus on his vision of the "Italian Design Factories," which are considered research laboratories in the field of the applied arts, and on their role as artistic mediators between the design world and the market. Alberto Alessi's vision also aims at explaining the so-called practice of the "Borderline" - the idea that a company must exist on the cusp of what is popular and what is considered a risk in order to be successful.

The design project and the book-catalogue, edited by Electa, are designed by Catalan artist, performer and ex-designer, Marti Guixe, who has worked with Alberto Alessi previously.
