IIDA has announced the winners of 2019 IIDA Latin America Design Awards. This competition was created to recognize, honor, and celebrate outstanding interior design/interior architecture projects that represent the highest level of creativity, originality, and design excellence in the Latin America and Caribbean regions.
"Each year, the Latin America Design Awards present us with outstanding examples of locally inspired, pioneering design projects that successfully reflect the communities and populations they serve," said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. "This year's winning projects represent the best of visionary architecture and design in their respective regions."
Entries were judged by a jury of design professionals, including Patricia SaldaƱa Natke, FAIA, founding partner, UrbanWorks; Nita Posada, IIDA, director of interior design, Skylab Architecture; and Enrique Vela, IIDA, AIA, associate principal, ROTTET STUDIO.
"The winners in this competition demonstrated an astute sense of placemaking within these projects," said Posada on behalf of the jury. "We are pleased to be honoring such well-articulated interiors that speak the local languages."
