London Design Festival has awarded Tom Dixon with the 2019 London Design Medal. The award is the highest accolade bestowed upon an individual who has distinguished themselves within the industry and demonstrated consistent design excellence.
"I'm still confused as to why I won't be getting the 'Emerging Design Medal,' as it still feels very much like I have only just started - I've so much left to design! But I'm very touched to be noticed by this super jury, thank you very much," Dixon commented.
London Design Festival Medals were initiated thirteen years ago to pay tribute annually to designers who are making, or have made, a significant difference to our lives through their innovation, originality and imagination. Originally offering one - 'The Medal' - there are now four individual medals: the London Design Medal, Emerging Talent, Design Innovation, and Lifetime Achievement.
