SCAD Partners with Catapult Design for New Fellowship Program

The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) has announced a new partnership with Catapult Design. Through this collaboration, Catapult Design will award an annual fellowship to alumni from SCAD's Design for Sustainability M.A. and M.F.A. degree programs.

The annual fellowship recipient will join Catapult's professional team of designers, engineers, and business specialists in creating human-centered design solutions to complex social challenges. "SCAD's design for sustainability students are trained to apply design as a tool for transformative change, and Catapult Design has long been a leader in generating social impact for underrepresented communities where they need it most," commented Scott Boylston, graduate coordinator of the design for sustainability program. "This fellowship represents an amazing opportunity for our alumni to work in the field with highly experienced designers, and to take their first bold steps into their new careers."

The 2021 fellowship recipient, who will be selected before May 2021, will work directly with Catapult Design CEO Angela Hariche and other design leaders on an array of projects. The annual fellow will also explore opportunities to create momentum for social innovation projects more locally, within the Savannah community.

"I have been hoping to work closely with SCAD's design for sustainability program for some time," Angela Hariche stated. "I am delighted to help forge this partnership between the students and Catapult's designers, and really looking forward to the innovative solutions that will surely be discovered."
