Emeco Debuts New Line of Stools by Naoto Fukasawa

Emeco has debuted Za, a brand new collection of recycled aluminum stools designed by Naoto Fukasawa. Just like Emeco's iconic 1006 Navy chair, Za is guaranteed for life - a timeless piece to be loved & passed down through generations.

"The Navy chair is one of the most identified icons in America," Fukasawa commented. "I had an image of a round stool, which could become a part of the Navy chair family, like a brother or sister. I embodied that thought into the design of the Za stool."

Za - which means 'a place to sit' in Japanese - is similar to the Navy chair in more ways than one; with a round seat and square aluminum tubing, Fukasawa's simple, yet purposeful design carries its own unique personality that somehow fits right into the Navy chair family. It's also well-suited for a variety of applications from residential to hospitality and commercial spaces - both indoors & out.

Emeco Za is handcrafted by a dedicated team at Emeco's factory in Hanover, PA following an elaborate 77-step process. The stools come in three heights; small, counter height and bar stool height. Za also boasts the smallest carbon footprint of any Emeco product to date. The recycled aluminum is light, strong, non-corrosive, and fireproof. Za is offered with a natural, hand-brushed anodized finish, a hand-polished finish, or in six powder coat colors that reflect the spirit of the collection; Warm Grey, Light Brown, Light Blue, Green, Orange and Charcoal. Hand brushed and powder coated stools are suitable for outdoor use.

"Za comes from the soul of Emeco - made for lifetimes of use, with a minimum carbon footprint," stated Gregg Buchbinder, Owner & CEO of Emeco. "Its distinctive 'Emeconess' makes it feel like a member of the original Emeco family from the 1940's."
