FITC Design and Technology Festival Debuts in Europe

FITC Design + Technology Festival Debuts in Europe

An international line-up of designers and developers from North America, Europe and The Benelux Region converge on Amsterdam, The Netherlands, for two days of panels, presentations and parties as FITC makes its European debut, February 25 + February 26, 2008 at the Felix Meritis European Centre for Arts and Sciences. This is the first time that FITC, now in its seventh year, has ventured outside North America.

"Amsterdam is the perfect place to launch FITC in Europe," says Shawn Pucknell, Founder of FITC and Executive Producer of FITC Amsterdam. "We are looking forward to presenting a highly immersive and unique experience for attendees, one where they can learn new techniques, try new technologies, and rub elbows with the stars of the creative technology industry."

Apart from the unique location, FITC Amsterdam will also bring together, for the first time, the creators of Papervision 3D, an open source 3D engine that has turned the Flash world on its head. Team members John Grden (USA), Ralph Hauwert (The Netherlands), Tim Knip (The Netherlands), and Carlos Ulloa (UK) will present an invaluable workshop focused on this new high-performance application.

Additional Flash developers confirmed for FITC Amsterdam include: Branden Hall (author and teacher, USA), Erik Natzke (interactive designer, USA), Colin Moock (ActionScript expert and author) and Jared Tarbell.

Also confirmed are trailblazing designers GMUNK (aka Bradley Grosh, motion graphics expert, USA), David Eriksson and Daniel Ilic (Co-creative Directors for North Kingdom, Sweden), Joshua Hirsch (Minister of Technology, for Brooklyn, New York-based interactive design studio, Big Spaceship), Tali Krakowsky (Director of Experience Design, Imaginary Forces, New York and LA) and James Paterson (artist and designer, Canada).

Participating designers and developers from The Benelux region include:

* Peter Elst -- Flash instructor and Adobe Community Expert
* Rogier Hendriks and Harm Van Zon -- partners at Amsterdam creative studio ONESIZE
* Joost Korngold -- freelance Graphic Designer/Director
* Nicolas Lierman -- platform developer and creator of the Google Analytics Reporting Suite on AIR
