Cracow Fashion Week

For the first time Cracow widely known as a city of art has become a city of fashion for one week. Cracow Fashion Awards 2009- a contest for young designers organised by Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design performed a great opening of the event on 21th of March. Fifty four talented people from all over the country presented their collections for wide public.

Creative and aestheticaly pleasing works clearly showed that the entrants have followed the design process trying to meet users requirements and that the contest is destined to become a platform for launching innovative ideas. The event was sponsored by Polish major brands Cropp and Reserved which have given support to the school for many years.

The guest star was Joanna Blazejewska - a designer from Paris who presented her spring- summer collection. Two German schools: Fahmoda and Modefachschule have contribiuted with their presentations in exchange of ideas between young people.

The jury awarded the first prize to Grazyna Loboda for her collection "Constructing the Space." Six entrants were granted with internships in Academy of Art and Haute Couture in Valencia.

Other prizes were awarded to; Monika Czesak, Magdalena Wielgosz, Malgorzata Grzywnowicz i Malgorzata Wegiel, Anna Parkitna, Kamilla Wozniak, Izabela Pluzek, Anita Grzyb, Magdalena Smielak, Agnieszka Dydo, Ewa Muchajer.

The final of Cracow Fashion Week took place in Galeria Kazimierz with many fashion shows and events.
