The ninth edition of the international poster competition Ten Images for Ithaca brought together 1207 young & distinguished artists.
Labels, as objects but also in their broader sense of categorization and discrimination were the inspiration for the creation of the 142 posters that were voted by the jury of this year's competition.
The creators used photography, illustration and typography to talk about labels and their role in society, human nature, the need to belong to a group and the right to be different.
All their thoughts and comments are communicated with humor, irony, tenderness, anxiety, anger and optimism.
The result is a rich and multifaceted collection of strong images that impress with their righteousness.
The exhibition of the 10 winning posters, the 132 finalists and the winning poster of the ABSOLUT People's Choice Award will open on Saturday, the 17th of July 2010 on the island of Ithaca.
The award ceremony will take place on the same day.
