Open Studios at Budapest Design Week 2010

Open Studios, an initiative by Design Terminal, aims to bring people closer to the work of the Hungarian representatives of the profession and show them through real examples how designers work. In Hungary it is still not widely known what design is about, thus the organisers find it important to make people know more about the work processes, the technical background and trick of the trade of some creative fields. In the framework of the Open Studios initiative visitors have the chance to see with their own eyes the different work phases, to ask designers personally and to understand through real life experiences what designers do day after day.

Open Studios was first organised last year and in 2010 it is again one of the leading programs of the Budapest Design Week. Visitors can look into the work of the Anagraphic graphic studio, the Artfront architecture-interior decoration studio, also get to know the world of the crystal chandelier design brand Manooi and the ironic products of Sausagefence studio. For fashion fanatics Dresscode, Esztille Workshop, Kamchatka Design, Kepp Showroom and Nati 100% Pureidea are the places to go. The secrets of contemporary jewellery design are revealed at Fordos Jewellery Studio, while visitors of the Printa Academy can get closer to different printing technics, printing art and eco-design and try glass refining and cutting at Luca Görömbei's glass studio. For those interested in the most recent technologies and photography Flashback Photo studio is a must, just like the office of the internationally acclaimed Zoltan+ focusing on image design, graphical works and web design.
