Frog Design and Aricent Launch Idea-to-Market Innovation Services

frog design and its parent company Aricent announced the launch of a new strategic business unit to enhance their existing joint innovation offering. Combining frog's innovation and design expertise with Aricent's engineering capabilities, the Idea-to-Market unit will integrate frog's 550 designers, researchers, strategists, mechanical engineers, and technologists with Aricent's Mobile Devices and Solutions (MDS) and Experience Engineering (XE) groups, which are comprised of more than 1,000 software architects, developers, and quality assurance engineers. Aricent's Business Technology Consulting (BTC) group, which identifies market opportunities and assesses the business impact of emerging technologies for clients, will also be part of the new unit. The integrated structure will enable creative and consulting teams to work hand-in-hand with software delivery teams on product and service innovations across multiple industries including communications, energy, retail, and healthcare. The teams will be based in locations in the US, India, China, and Europe.

Doreen Lorenzo, president of frog design, will take on additional responsibilities to lead this Idea-to-Market business unit as executive vice president and general manager of Aricent. "Our experience has shown that a new kind of collaboration model is needed in order to create and commercialize products that deliver the world-class design and user experience that consumers today have come to expect," Ms. Lorenzo said. "The new business unit will strengthen our ability to help our clients consistently deliver this kind of innovation, while at the same time maximize operational efficiency, shorten time-to-market, and reduce overall product development lifecycle costs."

"I am confident that by leveraging our combined strategy, design, and engineering expertise, we are uniquely positioned to build a whole new category of innovation company," added Sudip Nandy, CEO of Aricent. "Based on recent large-scale programs with Fortune 500 companies and many discussions with industry leaders, we know our clients are hungry for a company that can partner with them to bring innovative products and services from ideation through to market success. Aricent and frog have already been collaborating for four years, but now we can offer our clients a seamless blend of disruptive creative thinking and pragmatic technology implementation as one integrated team and across the entire innovation process."
