Tangent Opens New Studio in NYC

The multi award winning design and branding firm Tangent Graphic opens its first US based studio in New York's Chelsea district this month. The UK based agency is expanding its operations and expects to make an impact on the New York design scene with its approach to design, clients the company's ethos.

Tangent was formed by three designers; Andrew Stevenson, Steven Waldron, and David Whyte who studied at College together in Glasgow almost 10 years ago. Since opening their UK studio, the lively company has picked up numerous awards and accolades over the years, has featured in books, magazine and blogs worldwide and is currently making waves in the UK design, and now has ambitions to do the same in New York.

Tangent is no stranger to working on large scale event projects, while at the same time diversifying by designing identities for the likes of Diageo and their flagship bar/restaurant in their North American headquarters as well as independent and boutique fashion labels across the globe.

"Opening a Studio in New York has always been part of Tangent's plans," commented Steven Waldron of Tangent. "As an ambitious and energetic creative firm, we want to work with as many different people and clients as possible - it's what we do and enjoy. We believe our ethos, process and strong creative solutions can work for us here. We believe that a strong conceptual approach, backed by thorough research helps to achieve differentiation."
