SUITE New York's The Pink Swan Project

During October 2011, SUITE New York will launch The Pink Swan Project to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Nineteen leading interior designers, architects and fashion icons will customize The Fritz Hansen Swan Chair designed by Arne Jacobsen in personal homage to BCRF and their worldwide initiatives.

Alexandra Von Furstenberg, Campion Platt, Chris Kraig, David Mann, D.B. Kim of PYR for Swarovski, Holly Fulton for Swarovski, Jamie Drake, Jonathan Adler, Julie Hillman, Karim Rashid, Kelly Hoppen, Madeline Weinrib, Margherita Maccapani Missoni, Milly De Cabrol, Nate Berkus, Simon Doonan, Vicente Wolf, Victoria Hagan and Windsor Smith have donated their extraordinary talents to each design a one-of-kind Swan Chair for the project.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month will kick off on September 29th at Gagosian Gallery, Davies Street, in London. Elizabeth Hurley and Larry Gagosian will co-host the event. This salon exhibition presents selections from Evelyn Lauder's ongoing series of lady head vase portraits entitled "The Salon Beauties." Three Swan Chairs, designed by Margherita Maccapani Missoni, Kelly Hoppen and Holly Fulton for Swarovski, will be on display alongside Evelyn Lauder's photographs. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the photographs will go directly to fund research projects in the UK supported by BCRF.

From London, the three Swan chairs will fly back to New York City to join the other sixteen chairs for the month-long stateside event. Starting October 1st, a weekly rotation of Swan Chairs will be on display in the impeccably curated Gagosian Shop on Madison Avenue.

The one-of-kind Swan Chairs will be auctioned on Charitybuzz website. The online auction will run October 1st - October 31st, 2011. 80% of each sale will go directly to BCRF. On October 27th, SUITE New York co- principals Kris Fuchs & Maria Sepulveda will host a memorable evening at their Park Avenue showroom to honor The Pink Swan Project. SUITE New York's showroom is located in the newly coined "NoMad" district, steps from Madison Square Park and the Ace Hotel. Situated on the 17th floor of a vintage skyscraper, sweeping views of the NYC skyline will serve as backdrop to the 19 completed Swan Chairs.

In addition to the completed Swan Chairs, an exhibit of Evelyn Lauder's "The Salon Beauties" will be featured in a parlor style installation. As always, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Evelyn Lauder's photographs will benefit BCRF. Evelyn Lauder will attend as well as the majority of the designers.
