NYC Council Priorities for an Age Friendly NYC

New York City Council Member Jessica Lappin will speak about her accomplishments,priorities and ideas for achieving a more healthful, safe, and sustainable environment in New York City, to better serve not only seniors but people in all age groups.

As Chair of the NYC Council's Committee on Aging, Council Member Lappin has been leading the Council's efforts to make New York City more age-friendly by protecting core services while planning for the future of this rapidly growing age-group.

Aging in an urban location offers significantly different opportunities from the more widespread trend toward building senior facilities in the suburbs.

Architects have the expertise to offer invaluable insight into the potential for redesigning our buildings and public spaces to better serve this population well into the future.
