Woods Bagot Commits to a New Kind of Architectural Engagement

Woods Bagot's collective research and knowledge management capability has been announced as a winner, at the 2011 Asian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) Awards. Committed to a new kind of architectural engagement, Woods Bagot has continued to innovate and evolve their knowledge capability to reflect a new level of united authorship, driving their next generation global studio.

"Our knowledge capability is at the forefront of our business. To receive our third award is a tremendous affirmation of our years of commitment to knowledge management and research initiatives," said Ross Donaldson, Joint Group Managing Director (JGMD), Woods Bagot. "Over time, we have continued to evolve our knowledge capability, harnessing innovative solutions that are enabling a new type of architectural engagement."

A research driven global studio, two percent of Woods Bagot's business revenue is committed to research and knowledge management; with this investment bringing to life a series of initiatives and tools such as the global research brand Public, and the Design Intelligence Portal, an online tool that captures and shares design intelligence across the globe.

"Next generation design solutions are being realised; collective intellect is being shared and injected through our projects across the globe - and it is our knowledge capability and management, combined with talent, that is making this happen," continued Ross.

Driving collective intellect through the sharing of combined knowledge, with talent at the forefront has resulted in the delivery of numerous internationally acclaimed award winning projects such as Qatar Science and Technology Park, the Shijiazhuang International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute.

As the only architectural practice announced on the 2011 short list, Woods Bagot is spearheading the industry illustrating an exceptional ability to leverage knowledge to deliver superior solutions.

"This award reconfirms our dedication to the development of our knowledge platforms which we believe are key to the future of our practice at a time where intelligent solutions are needed to address increasingly complicated global issues," said Richard Marshall, Joint Group Managing Director, Woods Bagot.

As a winner of the Asian MAKE Award, Woods Bagot has now been shortlisted for the Global MAKE Award, to be announced later this year.
