MoMA Releases Its First Enhanced Digital Books for iBookstore

The Museum of Modern Art has released its first enhanced digital books for Apple's iBookstore. Century of the Child: Growing by Design, 1900-2000 and MoMA Collection Highlights: 350 Works from The Museum of Modern Art, made with iBooks Author, are available today from the iBookstore on iPad.

These Multi-Touch books offer a truly interactive reading experience that features superb, high-resolution images, supplemental audio and video content, and fully searchable text that readers can highlight, make notes to, and define key words in by using the iBooks app built in dictionary.

Century of the Child: Growing by Design, 1900-2000, published in conjunction with an eponymous exhibition on view at the Museum from July 29 through November 5, 2012, is a richly illustrated survey of twentieth-century design for children. Featuring over 400 color illustrations and video clips, this book brings together an unprecedented collection of objects and concepts from around the world to illuminate how progressive design has shaped the physical, intellectual, and emotional development of children.

MoMA Collection Highlights: 350 Works from The Museum of Modern Art is an interactive exploration of some of the most significant modern and contemporary artworks from the Museum's superlative collection. Through high-resolution images and additional views of three-dimensional sculptures, short texts by MoMA curators, and audio and video commentary from artists, curators, and conservators, this book brings the Museum's collection alive in an enriched, multimedia format.
