AIA California Council 2012 Residential Design Awards

AIA California Council 2012 Residential Design Awards

Organized by the American Institute of Architects, California Council (AIA California Council) the Residential Design Awards program will honor excellence in architectural design in residential projects located within California.

The competition reflects AIA California Council's desire to highlight not only projects constructed in California, but those architects and firms who shape the landscape of architecture and design throughout the state and beyond.

"Residential architects, particularly hard hit during this economic downturn, were eager for the statewide voice of the AIA to help deliver the message of the value of hiring an architect to their clients and the broader community," commented Executive Vice President & CEO of the AIA California Council Paul Welch Jr., Hon. AIA.

AIA California Council's decision to hold a new awards competition exclusively focused on residential architecture offers an optimistic view for the economic recovery of California.

Open to both members and nonmembers whose projects reside in California or California architects who have completed work elsewhere, the 2012 Residential Design Awards program accepts projects where construction was completed after January 1, 2007.

The deadline for registration is September 5, 2012 and entry submission is due September 19, 2012.
