Dave Pickett Joins Carbon Design Group

Carbon Design Group has added award winning industrial designer Dave Pickett to its roster.

"During his internship with us it was obvious that Dave had the elusive 'it.' His combination of drive and talent make Dave an awesome addition," commented Peter Bristol, Carbon's Creative Director.

Pickett was selected as a Top 6 Finalist in Apartment Therapy's 2011 Design Showcase. His personal projects including the Nook Coffee Table and Skelton Key Chess Set concepts have been covered by some of the world's most influential blogs and featured in books and magazines.

This year, his BaseCamp Service Design concept was recognized as a runner-up in the 2012 Core77 Awards and as a Finalist in the 2012 IDEA Awards. His modular furniture design, Floorscape, an industrial-style floor lounge, will be first be showcased at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland on December 7, 2012, and remain on exhibit through May 2013.

Pickett earned his Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design from The Cleveland Institute of Art and completed internships at both Farm Design and at Carbon.

"More than our design savvy clients or radical problem solving approach, the allure to join Carbon was the people," Pickett said. "From racing enthusiasts to paragliders, our radically different passions, perspectives, and personalities make Carbon the perfect place to create."
