Gallery of Mo Raises £11,000 for Movember

Gallery of Mo, an initiative developed by digital agency twentysix to raise money during Movember, has raised more than £11,000 for 2012. More than 170 artists and designers who signed up to the Gallery of Mo spent the month of November hard at work, creating more than 500 portraits of moustache-wearers in exchange for donations to help change the face of men's health.

Supporters commissioned their very own personalised portraits by visiting Gallery of Mo website and picking an artist, or asking to have one randomly assigned. Guest artists also contributed one-off prizes. A prize draw to become a zombie character in Charlie Adlard's popular Walking Dead comic book series sold out within days of launching. Creature creator the Felt Mistress donated a moustachioed sculpture called Montgomery Venk.

"We are so proud of all the volunteer artists who were hard at work throughout Movember, producing hundreds of unique portraits," commented twentysix designer Adam Campion. "We smashed last year's fundraising total early in the month, and the Gallery of Mo quickly became a beacon of fun and creativity for Movember 2012.

If we have anything to do with it, designers and illustrators will be leading the way in Movember 2013 too."
