Singapore Design Week 2016

Singapore Design Week 2016

Organised by the DesignSingapore Council (Dsg), SDW 2016 will bring together a collection of local and international design trade shows, conferences, exhibitions and workshops at the National Design Centre (NDC) and other locations around the island.

One of the highlights of SDW 2016 is the President's Design Award 10th Anniversary Exhibition which will feature all 125 recipients from 2006 to 2015. The multimedia exhibition seeks to showcase the impact that these leading designers have made on the community and everyday life over the last decade. The President's Design Award is the highest accolade for designers and designs in Singapore and is jointly administered by the DesignSingapore Council and the Urban Redevelopment Authority.

SDW anchor event, SingaPlural 2016 will be held at 99 Beach Road again. It's theme 'Senses - The Art and Science of Experiences' will showcase the best design elements that encompass scent, texture, visual, sound and taste.

For design enthusiasts and the general public, SDW 2016 will bring back crowd favourites such as Design Trails. Venturing into the Jalan Besar/Geylang and Joo Chiat areas, these 'Thoughtful Design' journeys will bring visitors to explore places, people and processes behind thoughtful products and experiences. Dsg will also introduce a new curated design experience at the NDC, which include a Design and Make Fair for everyone to learn the basics of designing and make things designed by them.
