Bridging the Design Industry's Generation Gap

Bridging the Design Industry's Generation Gap

As more designers enter the workforce, it becomes apparent that their expectations and needs vary from those in previous generations. And so how do you satisfy everyone and effectively bridge the gap within an office environment?

The International Interior Design Association's New York Chapter will explore just that at a special ICONNECT event on Wednesday, July 20th. The event will feature a panel of distinguished designers who will engage in a candid discussion on the generation gap in the design field.

Discussing everything from Blueprints to Revit, Pension Plans to Napping Pods, and Corner Offices to the Open Office, the panel will take place at the Steelcase showroom at 4 Columbus Circle from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

Moderated by Laura Huggins, Contract Specialist at the Shaw Contract Group, and Tayler Jones, Designer at Gensler, the multigenerational panel includes: Randy Fahey, Gensler; Barry Richards, Rockwell Group; Addy Madorsky, Switzer Group; Suraj Bhatia, HLW; Dehne Sibbernsen, HOK; and Christina Skowronski, Gensler.
