Icsid has launched the bid process for its World Design Capital 2020 title. The World Design Capital mobilizes an entire city in a year-long design program that showcases the effective use of design in making a city more attractive, competitive, and livable.
A different city is honoured every two years in recognition of the innovative ways in which it has used design to improve the economic, social, cultural and environmental lives of its citizens.
Previous cities include Torino (2008), Seoul (2010), Helsinki (2012), Cape Town (2014), and Taipei (2016). Mexico City will be World Design Capital in 2018.
The deadline for bids is March 31, 2017.
