Seebo Announces Partnership with Autodesk Forge

Seebo has announced a partnership with Autodesk Forge, extending its ability to help product designers transform their traditional non-connected products into smart products.

Seebo provides a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform for developing Internet of Things (IoT) and smart, connected products. Seebo's technology intuitively connects Autodesk design apps like Fusion 360 and enables users to drag and drop components (such as connectivity, motion and location features, etc.) into a product design framework, to transform simple products into smart products.

"We're very excited about the integration between Autodesk Forge and Seebo, which will provide Autodesk customers with access to some of the most cutting-edge IoT development tools available. The joint platform allows manufacturers to tap into the world of IoT efficiently and cost-effectively," said Lior Akavia, co-founder and CEO of Seebo.

Forge is a connected developer platform that powers the future of making things. It takes components from Autodesk's powerful library of software and delivers them as cloud-based building blocks.

The Seebo platform provides the necessities for creating smart products on a single platform. With the integration between Autodesk Forge and the Seebo platform, 3D models can now be directly uploaded into Seebo's IoT Creator where the foundations of the product's functional design are created. With the ability to upload 3D models from Autodesk Forge into the Seebo IoT Creator, users can assign smart behaviors or features directly onto a 3D model and map where the smart behaviors will be applied to the final product. This enables direct integration between the Seebo platform and the Autodesk Forge platform, giving Seebo users precise, user-friendly design tools when planning and ideating smart products.

This integration makes the design process intuitive and fluid, enabling product designers to decide exactly where smart behaviors or features are placed on the 3D model in the early planning stage of the smart product. The accurate location of sensors and smart behaviors on the product results in an efficient smart product going to market, improving the end-user experience. During the smart product lifecycle, all the players in the creation of the product, from product designer, to hardware, software and firmware developer, right through to the manufacturer, will have access to an accurate and precise 3D map of the smart product design. By seamlessly integrating the Autodesk Forge Viewer API into Seebo's platform, users can manipulate the working model in a 360-degree environment so that smart product planning takes shape quickly and easily, offering a fun user interface.

Once smart behaviors for the product have been selected and assigned to the 3D model, the Hardware Engine translates these features into electronic design solutions, with associated manufacturing cost breakdowns. Seebo platform users can order prototypes and access Seebo's IoT Marketplace of firmware engineers, hardware engineers, app developers and PCBA factories to develop and integrate the smart device and take the final product to mass production. The Seebo platform provides indispensable tools for seamless IoT development, including SDK and firmware libraries, as well as the Smart Device Simulator, which is used to test the smart device virtually. Once the smart product goes to market, Seebo platform users can harness Seebo's IoT cloud provider partnerships to monitor, manage and track performance of the smart product.
