Living Cities Forum 2018

Living Cities Forum 2018

The 2018 Living Cities Forum will be held July 26 in Melbourne. The event will investigate a core claim of architecture and urban design; that good design makes better citizens.

This year's speakers are leading practitioners with differing backgrounds, ages, approaches to practice and areas of expertise. Collectively they will offer a diversity of subjects and viewpoints, from permanent buildings designed to foster communal life, to temporary frameworks that augment collective activities, to models of practice that allow deeper engagement, and finally the overarching political and economic drivers that define our cities today.

Discussion will demonstrate a strong commitment to the relationship between people, communities and the spaces we inhabit - 'Architecture as a social and cultural undertaking as well as a material or tectonic undertaking. Architecture for people.'
