Dear Evan Hansen has become a cultural phenomenon since it premiered on Broadway, winning six Tonys, a Grammy, and legions of fans. To commemorate the musical's two year anniversary, the show and the Pantone Color Institute have announced "Dear Evan Hansen Blue," a radiant, electric blue that represents the uplifting, energizing emotional journey of Evan Hansen.
"Dear Evan Hansen is a coming of age story, and that is, at its very core, all about youthfulness crossing over into maturity. The contemporary, modern and fresh blue color highlights Evan's journey through adolescence; a blue color that reflected Evan's persona and the way we live today," commented Laurie Pressman, Vice President Pantone Color Institute. "The radiant blue that represents Dear Evan Hansen is active, playful and energizing; an electric blue that radiates intensity, and as part of the blue family, a color that conveys a message of hope and optimism."
Dear Evan Hansen Blue can be seen across all elements of the production including set and lighting design, wardrobe, merchandise and apparel, signage and marketing collateral. The proliferation of the color extends behind the scenes to lesser known theater elements including a blue room backstage, blue striped carpets on premier nights, and more.
