Once again the red dot award: product design goes on its annual search for good design, this year for the 53rd time. Designers and entrepreneurs from all around the world are invited to submit their products and to face the competition in order to compare their achievements on an international scale. In response to the constant development of the industry, this year's competition will offer the additional product category 'Computers and Accessories.' Registration dead-line of the red dot award: product design 2007 is 19 January 2007.

Design is indispensable in today's international competition. Therefore, it is important to identify outstanding design and to label it as such. The red dot design award is one of the oldest and most renowned design competitions worldwide and its distinction, the red dot, has established itself as one of the most sought-after quality seals of good design. Receiving a red dot is regarded as a powerful instrument for companies and designers to effectively communicate their outstanding design achievements.

An important factor in the red dot design award's worldwide success is its international jury, which consists of renowned designers and design experts from all around the world who evaluate the submitted products according to set criteria and examine their design quality and functionality. Every year, the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen selects a new combination of jurors to guarantee the highest possible objectivity in the evaluation of the winning products.

Festive Awards Presentation and Special Exhibition in the Red Dot Design Museum
The awards presentation for all winners of the red dot award: product design 2007 will take place on 25 June 2007 in the festive atmosphere of the Essen Aalto Theatre. The red dot design museum will then present the winning products in a special exhibition from 26 June to 23 July 2007. Following the special exhibition, the award-winning products will be exhibited for at least one year in the red dot design museum on the premises of the UNESCO world cultural heritage site Zollverein.

Eligibility criteria: Manufacturers and designers of industrially manufactured products that have been launched onto the market during the last two years

Early Bird until 5 December 2006: 190 Euro incl. VAT
Regular until 19 January 2007: 210 Euro incl. VAT
Late-comers until 2 February 2007: 240 Euro incl. VAT

Awards presentation: 25 June 2007
