Herbst LaZar Bell Receives Two Good Design Awards

Herbst LaZar Bell Inc. (HLB), the internationally recognized product design and development firm, announced recently that it has won two 2006 Good Design Awards, presented by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. This year, the following products have received the Good Design distinction:

Wilson W Line Women's Tennis Racquets - Sports and Recreation category
The First Years Breastflow Infant Feeding System - Children's Products category

"This is great recognition for two products that connect with their respective audiences at emotional levels," stated Mark Dziersk, Senior Vice President of Design and Marketing for HLB. "Although excelling at sports and feeding a baby could not be farther apart as far as activities, our 'Meaningful Design' process has resulted in two products that create desire and promise to be big business successes for both Wilson and The First Years."

W Line is the first comprehensive collection of tennis racquets designed for the specific performance needs of women. It provides greater comfort and performance over untailored competitive products, and gives women the ability to express their individual style by providing a sophisticated range of cosmetic treatments - specific enough to resonate at a personal level for each player, yet universal enough to match up to diverse personalities on the court.

The First Years Breastflow Infant Feeding System is the first ever infant feeding bottle designed to simulate the breastfeeding motions of suction, compression and milk flow for the baby. The feeding system enables the baby to experience instant gratification because the flow of milk is immediate, unlike nursing which takes several seconds before the "let down" of the milk occurs in the breast. The flow is also more rapid, requiring much less sucking work for the baby.

Founded in 1950 by Edgar Kaufmann Jr., "Good Design" publicly acknowledges and elevates the best and finest new design and innovation for products and graphics. Annually, designers and manufacturers in over 30 countries have been honored for their singular achievements in producing hallmarks of contemporary design.
