The third Barcelona Design Week opens its doors from 10-14 November, having become established as a leading event for promoting and debating design and a date on the international calendar that can't be missed.
This event, an initiative organised by BCD, Barcelona Design Centre, aims to promote Barcelona as a city of creativity, design and knowledge, strengthening the relationship between business and design and fostering greater understanding and awareness of design.
The edition 2008 will bring together companies from different production and service industries and professionals and experts from the design world at a forum to exchange know-how, a platform for exploring in greater depth the latest trends in design and design management and the strategic value of design for enhancing innovation and competitiveness in business, as well as the role it plays in the development of the global economy.
The Barcelona Design Week will count once again with internationally renowned design icons and experts, among which stands out William McDonough, designer and architect, author of the book Cradle to cradle, remaking the way we make things, Charlottesville.
This year the activities of the Barcelona Design Week will take place at the CaixaForum, the CosmoCaixa, the facilities of Barcelona Activa, the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion, and the 22@Barcelona.
