Mudpie Announces Reinvention of the Male

Mudpie announced the arrival of the latest Trendbooks for the SS12 season. The latest editions of MPD Baby, MPD Kids, MPD Female and MPD Casual & Street - a new title for the Male book with expanded thematic collections.

There are six titles in the Trendbook collection:

MPD Baby - newborn to 18 months for boys and girls
MPD Kids - pre-school to tween for boys and girls
MPD Female - majors on three trends Water Footprint, National Hybrid and The Curator - each presented in three phases. The nine phased collections consist of clothing, accessories and trend led graphic, prints and badges which are presented across double page spreads to give designers instant visualisation of each commercial merchandised range.
MPD Casual & Street - is the male book reinvented to provide greater depth to the menswear ranges showing nine specific themes.

"We are extremely pleased with how this book has turned out as it really shows you how menswear has developed in terms of ranges," said Cheryl Morgan, Mudpie's Senior Designer. "We can now cater for all designers and brand owners from preppy and traditional right through to surf wear and ultra retro sportswear."

The key seasonal Trends identified by Mudpie are:

Water Footprint: examines the delicate ecosystems beneath the ocean, the value of hydro-energy and the benefits of a coastal existence.

National Hybrids: explores the diversity of nationalities and pastimes that blend together to form a modern multi-cultural society.

The Curator: looks at a growing desire to leave a legacy, practical solutions for revamping our surroundings and ideas of defying creative convention.

All colours in the books are Pantone referenced to the Fashion + Home Color System and are packaged with a colour card of genuine Pantone cotton swatches; displayed by trend and phased directions.

The nine palettes have been carefully selected by Mudpie's colour experts to represent and enhance trend delivery of the merchandised clothing and graphic collections. The trend-led palettes are accompanied by nine base colours, made up of versatile neutrals and ground shades that are transitional across all the phases. Providing the opportunity for many more colour combinations, commercial hues such as stone, cream, navy and khaki are included, along with a range of greys from cool steel to deep charcoal.
