Colourways - Australian Colour Forecasting Service Gets a Makeover

Colourways: Australian Colour Forecasting Service Gets a Makeover

The Design Institute of Australia (DIA) announced the forthcoming relaunch of Colourways, a colour forecasting initiative first established by the DIA in 1992. The appointment of two new Colourways managers - one each in Melbourne and Sydney - has provided the opportunity to re-define the Colourways range of services, with the new Colourways being launched at designEx in Melbourne from 13-15 April.

The Colourways' objective is to accurately forecast colours, materials, finishes and trends to benefit members and assist in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of products and services.

Colourways members attend regular workshops throughout Australia and New Zealand where forecasts are developed using collaborative tools and processes. Comprehensive forecast kits containing real samples are then produced and made available to workshop attendees, Colourways members and other interested parties.

In combination with the workshops and forecast launches, Colourways also runs state-based events and seminar programs, produces regular newsletters and provides web-based information and networking.

Kim Chadwick and Lucy Sutherland

The new managers for Colourways are Kim Chadwick and Lucy Sutherland, based in Melbourne and Sydney respectively. Jointly, they bring over 30 years' experience in colour forecasting, marketing and product development to the program.

Kim and Lucy can be found at designEX in the DIA stand at location 600, and they will also be presenting a retrospective of the past decade of Australian colour trends as part of the Live Profile seminar series held elsewhere at designEX.
