The theme for the 2012 Icograda Design Week in Sarawak is "Rediscovery." Rediscovery reveals and celebrates indigenous design.
Rediscovery demystifies the magic of Borneo for local and international designers. It invites participants to survey practices of local indigenous people and see how it relates to and provides context for the future of design.
Through Rediscovery's diverse programming, the event will share case studies demonstrating the integration of design strategy and technology to develop sustainable business models for craft industries; showcase ways design and branding can develop and differentiate creative and eco-tourism; and explore cultural diversity in indigenous design.
