The eighth NYCxDESIGN, the premiere festival celebrating design in New York City, will open to the public beginning on Tuesday, May 12, and affiliated projects and events will be on view and taking place at several hundred venues across the city through Wednesday, May 20.
Bringing together multidisciplinary designers, design fairs, cultural institutions, brands, universities, and collectives, NYCxDESIGN provides a unique platform to share, celebrate, and collaborate across the field and with the general public. Forming one of the most important international design weeks, the festival shines a light on established practices, mid-career designers, and emerging talent from across the city and America, presenting the best in the field today.
"New York City is a major center for creativity nationally and internationally - in studios around the city, there are thousands of young creatives experimenting and innovating across every design discipline imaginable, including product design, architecture, interior design, craft, fashion, technology, and even food," noted Edward Hogikyan, Vice President and Executive Director of NYCxDESIGN.
The 2020 edition of NYCxDESIGN will feature a wide range of city-wide activations, such as collaborations from cultural institutions, site-specific installations, retail partner events, and more.
