IDEA 2008 - The Industrial Design Excellence Awards

IDEA 2008: The Industrial Design Excellence Awards

Entries into the 2008 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) will be accepted from designers, students and companies worldwide beginning Monday, December 3.

There's plenty of time to prepare your application before the regular deadline of February 29, 2008.

The late entry deadline is March 7, 2008.

Co-sponsored by IDSA and BusinessWeek, the annual IDEA competition generates global attention from designers, business leaders and consumers as a powerful endorsement of the aesthetics and usability of winning designs.

An international jury chaired by Alistair Hamilton, IDSA, Creative Director, Mobile Communications Business at Microsoft, will select this year's award winners.

IDEA winners often find that the honor translates directly into increased sales: "Winning the IDEA award was a wonderful, prestigious and independent confirmation of our success" said Defibtech president Gintaras Vaisnys on the occasion of the 50,000th sale of the company's automated external defibrillator, which won a Bronze IDEA in 2004.

"The IDEA award was instrumental in helping Defibtech establish itself in the market as a true design leader."

As in past years, submissions will be accepted online for the first round of judging.
