Trollback + Company recently teamed up with Nike to create a movie trailer inspired commercial for the brand's new SQ Machspeed Black driver launching on Black Friday, November 26, 2010.
Using an innovative approach, Trollback + Company created a thrilling, adrenaline-driven movie trailer for the release of Nike's SQ Machspeed Black driver. "To build suspense and anticipation, we focused on powerful, ominous imagery and didn't reveal the driver until the end," said Christina Ruegg, Trollback + Company's project art director. Incorporating 3D animation and some live-action, the spot conveys a dark and menacing mood while also communicating the force and speed of the product. "It was a great creative opportunity to use an otherwise unconventional method to sell a golf club," added Ruegg. Sacred Noise amplified the tension, giving the piece a haunting life through their menacing yet powerful sound design.
A longtime collaborator with Nike, Trollback + Company has developed a trusting relationship with the brand over the years producing a series of live action and animated commercials. "Nike is an established, innovative brand and is always open for great new design, making it very rewarding to have them as a client," said Christina Ruegg.
