Construct Designs Mulberry Book to Celebrate 40th Anniversary of Luxury Fashion Brand

Mulberry, the luxury fashion brand, unveiled a celebratory book to mark its 40th Anniversary year. The book provides a candid glimpse into the life of this quintessentially English luxury brand. With art direction and design by London boutique design studio Construct, the sumptuous hardback captures the essence of the brand in this its 40th anniversary year, and celebrates Mulberry's recent successes and arrival on the world stage.

Behind the concept and content of the book is Georgia Fendley, founder and creative director of Construct and brand director of Mulberry.

"Rather than a dry historical round up of the past, the book is a glimpse inside our world, a fly on the wall, warts and all journey through the past two years of the brand's life," said Georgia. "It shows our public and private life, the highs and lows and the extraordinary Mulberry 'family' that work so hard together to make it all seem so effortless."

Mulberry has been designed by Construct as a luxuriously finished coffee table book. From its subtly embossed cover to its quarter linen binding and silk markers, the design expresses an attention to detail that is synonymous with Mulberry's own brand values.

Georgia Fendley and Construct art directed all the content, which was photographed by the renowned photographer and regular Mulberry collaborator Venetia Dearden. The book took nearly three years to create, with a collection of 480 pages of exquisite, never-seen-before images.

The result is an intimate, visual feast including:

- Access behind the scenes at the brand's thriving Somerset factory, the last brand-?owned luxury accessories factory in the UK

- Access to the Mulberry team, shops, shows and parties showing the fashion circus in full swing as the team plan, prepare and present season after season

- Natural shots of Mulberry's Creative Director Emma Hill and the brand's regular collaborators including Edward Enninful, Sam McKnight, Pat McGrath and Tim Walker

- Intimate, relaxed shots of celebrities and models including Florence Welch, Alexa Chung, Kelis, Lindsey Wixson, Erin O'Connor, Olivia Palermo and Gemma Arterton enjoying Mulberry's remarkably warm and charmingly family style take on the fashion circuit.

The book opens with an introduction written by Georgia Fendley with Mulberry founder Roger Saul, telling the remarkable story of the brand's idiosyncratically English creation in 1971.

"Construct wanted to create a book that captured the spirit of Mulberry; it's family feel, the balance between London Head Office and it's Somerset Factory, it's beautiful mixture of craft and fashion, said Kim Hartley, Construct design director. "We had a mammoth task editing over two years of art direction. So much wonderful material was photographed by Venetia Dearden it was difficult to pick only 480 pages worth! It is unlike any other fashion brand book in that it reflects the true naturalness, honesty and unfaltering energy of Mulberry behind the scenes."
