    2020 New York State Council on the Arts Independent Project Grants

    The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) is offering Independent Project grants of up to $10,000 for architecture, design, and historic preservation professionals. NYSCA's 2020 program in Architecture + Design is offered to individuals or teams to creatively explore or research an issue or problem in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, community centered design, historic preservation, fashion, graphic, industrial, and/or interior design that advances that field and contributes to a broader understanding of design.

    The Road Ahead: Reimagining Mobility

    The Road Ahead: Reimagining Mobility, on view at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum from December 14 through March 31, will feature 40 projects that explore salient topics around the future of mobility and the urban environment. The exhibition will be punctuated with six provocations and a selection of design responses that reimagine livable streets and the way people, goods and services will move in a new age of connected and transformational mobility.

    Dieter Rams: Principled Design at Philadelphia Museum of Art

    Dieter Rams: Principled Design, an exhibition surveying the career of one of the most influential industrial designers living today, will be on view at the Philadelphia Museum of Art from November 18 through April 14, 2019. The exhibition will feature the prolific body of work Rams has produced - from radios, clocks, and cameras to kitchen appliances and furniture - and will examine the longevity and impact of his design philosophies.
